1st Private.coffee Retro-Gaming-Tournament 2026

Last Saturday (12.09.2026) we held our first Retro-Gaming-Tournament (RGT)!

The stakes were high, as the winner would take home the glorious Retro-Gaming-Tournament Duck Trophy (RGTDT).

Players competed in a wide range of different games, from old C64 games like Frogger (1983) or Ms. Pac-Man (1983) to arcade favorites like Fatal Fury 2 (1992).

Of course, we also had our trusty Williams Whirlwind (1990) pinball machine as one of the highlights of our line-up.

As the heat of the competition came to an end, two people had the same number of points and shared the trophy.

To cool down, we tinkered with the old Commodore MPS1230 printer to create printed banners and awards for the tournament's winners.

Without needing an internet connection or dealing with firmware blocks for third-party ink, we could just print out our designs directly on fan-fold paper. Take that enshittification! You can see the banner above our delighted winners:
